Well that’s it. All over for another year, so time to get thinking about the next 12 months.
2025 Anniversaries:
A lot of car related milestones coming up, giving me a good excuse to post some car pictures.
Jaguar is 75 years old, having changed its name in 1950.
The XJS has been around for 50 of those years. With its flying buttresses and long bonnet, the car appears at last, to be receiving the credit it deserves as a long legged GT.
Yup, 50 years ago, die hard E Type fans took one look at this radical design and cried into their pints. Sounds somewhat familiar. Of course it was never intended to replace the E Type, in fact arguably until the F Type, nothing replaced the E Type. Many events are planned for this year so more later.
And, if anyone wants to join in the fun, I have this 4 litre XJS Convertible for sale.

Then there’s the Aston Martin DB 2 and the Jaguar Mk VII celebrating 75 years; TVR celebrates 60 years of existence; and the BMW three series appeared 50 years ago. Likewise the Lotus Esprit graced the roads 50 years ago.

Celebrating a thirtieth birthday is the Lotus Elise, with the Exige on 25 years.
January Events:
But before any of that, the first Bicester Scramble of the year takes place on January 5th.
There is of course the first Cars and Coffee in Leighton Buzzard on the same day. Always worth a visit.
The VSCC has a full calendar for the month with The Measham Rally on the 11th and the New Year Driving Tests at Brooklands on the 26th.
On the 9th to 12th January, the annual Autosport International extravaganza takes place at the NEC.
Club news:
Also on the 5th, the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club Bucks and Herts region has its New Year breakfast meet and walk. Breakfast in the Golden Eagle in Ashley Green, then a walk around College Lake near Tring. Later in the month on the 31st, The Aylesbury MG Club has its annual dinner at the Seven Stars in Dinton.
