The Castle Combe Classic GT and Sportscar Cup
Launched in 2007 by Flavien and Vanessa Marçais, this captivating series—more a celebration of classic racing than a traditional championship—brings together an eclectic mix of cars and personalities at renowned circuits throughout the UK and Europe. For 2025, enthusiasts can look forward to four thrilling events, kicking off at the legendary Silverstone on 30 May and culminating in the vibrant atmosphere of the Algarve Classic Festival at Portimao. September 2025 saw the series roll into the Castle Combe Classic, drawing an impressive grid of 37 entries to the Wiltshire circuit. The paddock buzzed with excitement as a stunning Lister Knobbly (unfortunately forced to retire), a bevy of charismatic E-Types in various guises, the ever-popular MGBs, and an assortment of Lotus models among others, lined up to compete. The race itself was a true test of skill and teamwork—two hours of ever-changing conditions, swinging between wet and dry.
Against all odds, only four teams failed to cross the finish line, underscoring the exceptional reliability of these classic machines and the exemplary sportsmanship on display throughout the event.
The overall winner was Kyle TILLEY in his Lotus 15, one of the few single driver entries.
