So, on 21st November I received an e mail press release from Motor Racing Legends informing the world that they have added a new series for “Grand Prix Icons“. These are 1966 to 1985 Formula One cars running 3 litre engines.
The first appearance of this new series will be at the BRDC Classic at Silverstone in July next year.
Now you may think this series sounds familiar and you would be correct because, Masters Historic Racing has been running Masters Racing Legends for 1966 to 1985 Formula One cars for some years.
A quick squint at the Masters Historic Racing 2026 Calendar shows that Masters Racing Legends will be appearing at, you guessed it, The BRDC Classic at Silverstone in July.
And then today another missive from Motor Racing Legends tells the world that it has another new series called “Endurance Legends” a series for GT and Sports Racing Cars from 1995 to 2012. And it will debut at the BRDC Classic in July.
Coincidentally Masters Historic Racing has been running a series for GT and Sports Racing Cars from 1995 to 2016 called “Masters Endurance Legends”. And yes it is due to appear at the BRDC Classic in July.
Confused?
So, I contacted Rachel Bailey of Motor Racing Legends whose current understanding is that only MRL will be the grid organiser for F1 and Prototypes at the BRDC Classic.
Rachel went on to say that MRL will have a large grid presence at Silverstone next year.

The next question therefore is “whither Masters Historic Racing?”. Watch this space……..
Edit: Misspelled MRL’s brand. Now corrected with apologies.
