July was a pretty busy month and the calendar is no less busy this month. August includes the Silverstone Festival, possibly the largest UK historic motorsport festival outside of the Goodwood Revival, on 22nd-24th.

02/03 August

Oulton Park welcomes Equipe Classic racing for a one day meeting around the Cheshire circuit. Expect to see Equipes; Libre; GTS; Sports Prototype; MG Cup; 70s; 50s; and Pre 63.

Castle Combe plays host to the Classic Sports Car Club for two days of mixed saloon/sportscar racing. The detailed calendar can be found here.

Brands Hatch has two days of Mini racing on the Indy Circuit.

09/10 August

Silverstone National Circuit hosts the annual Bentley Driver’s Club meeting on the 9th. Expect to see many examples of “the world’s fastest lorry” being put through their paces. This event will also host a significant anniversary.

The Morgan Challenge…………….

celebrates 40 continuous years of competition at this event. Thus becoming the longest running one-make series in the UK. Here’s the Instagram post.

Brands Hatch Indy welcomes the Festival Italia on the 10th.

16th/17th August

Silverstone hosts the 750 Motor Club on the International Circuit. Expect to see Austin Seven Specials alongside hot hatches, radicals and low line specials.

22nd – 24th August

The aforementioned Silverstone Festival. Fifteen grids over three days of qualifying and racing.

23rd/24th August

Not strictly motorsport but CarFest is happening on this weekend.

30th/31st August

The Classic Sports Car Club lands on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit for the Brittania event. Missing from this meeting will be the Slicks, New Millenium, BMW and Open series’.

I plan to be at Castle Combe on the 3rd, and Silverstone on the 9th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
